As a grandparent I wanted our three year old grandson to remain in a three point harness type seat as long as possible because the three point harness system is safer. Since he has grown up riding in a car seat and expects to be "belted in" my expectations were to keep him in the safest seat I could find as long as I possibly could before reverting to the standard booster seat and shoulder strap. He loves his new seat that is designed for "big boys" and his other car seat is now just the right size for his little sister. Thanks Evenflo for a great car seat for older children.
